Looking for a little fun for the upcoming patriotic holidays? Do you love pancakes? Today, we are going to combine some of my favorite pancakes recipes to make a patriotic pancakes stack!
The Super Food Sneak
Here at Creative Kitchening, we love to sneak in super healthy food while no one is looking! Pancakes are a perfect food to be sneaky with! To make our pancakes a bit healthier, we will be adding in blueberries and strawberries. Both have great antioxidants and lots of vitamins and minerals, as well as act as a natural dye for our pancakes.
The Red Layer
For the red layer, we will be using our recipe for Strawberry Coconut Pancakes. These pancakes, are probably my favorite recipe for pancakes to date! The hard part will be making up a batch and not eating them all before the rest are done! So, make up one batch and set to the side, uncooked- just the batter.
The Blue Layer
For the blue layer, we are going to make one batch of Blueberry Danish Pancakes. This pancakes recipe calls for a crumble, you can leave that off to the side for a topping afterwards. You could even skip it altogether if you want. Make one batch and set to the side, uncooked- just the batter.
The White Layer
The white layer may be a little obvious, but its our basic recipe- Pancakes and the Secret Ingredient. Make up one batch and set to the side, uncooked-just the batter. Now we are going to put it all together!
Putting it Together
Now that you have all of your batter made up, time to start frying up your pancakes! I usually alternate frying up colors so there is some of every color hot and ready! Then stack up your pancakes red, white, and blue, red…you get the idea!
For toppings add extra berries, shredded coconut, the danish crumble or a coconut whipped cream. The standard syrup option is always tasty too! Get crazy with your toppings… you could even add a sparkler on top if you wanted to! 🙂 Enjoy your patriotic pancakes!
