Taste of the Tropics Part 3
We saved the best for last in our taste of the tropics series! Hot pink bubblegum nicecream is here to make your hot summer days epic! This is by far my daughters’ favorite nicecream, I mean its electric hot pink! Who can say no to that??
Hot Pink Bubblegum Nicecream
Nothing says summer like the color hot pink! Just imagine sitting outside on a hot afternoon and eating a big bowl or cone of this electric colored delight! The best part- it is actually healthy for you! It won’t ruin your bikini bod! (Or I’ve had a couple kids and am not running around in a bikini bod!) :p Have we mentioned it is a family favorite recipe??!
The Super Food Sneak
So this guilt free, hot pink bubblegum nicecream does have a ton of health benefits, the highlight is the dragon fruit or pitaya that gives it its crazy color! Dragon fruit, while having a stunning appearance, does not really have a flavor to match in terms of intensity. Kinda funny to me. The benefits of eating dragon fruit are loads of vitamin C, lots of phytonutrients, and tons of antioxidants. So perfect for sitting out in the sun or fighting off a cold!
This recipe also includes tangerine oil which has tons of health benefits all on its own, and gives this nicecream a super delicious flavor! However, if you are using essential oils in food or water- make sure they are approved for dietary use! A lot of oils are not, so be careful! The oils I trust and use are these. Hot Pink Bubble Gum Nicecream
Hot Pink and delicious! Perfect for summer!
- 2 whole frozen bananas
- 1/2 cup frozen mango
- 1 pack frozen dragon fruit (pitaya)
- 1-2 drops tangerine oil ***only use essential oils approved for dietary use!
- 1 splash coconut nectar or agave optional for more sweetness
- 1-2 tablespoons coconut cream optional
- 1-2 splashes coconut milk if your blender needs help getting started mixing
Toss all ingredients into a high speed blender or food processor and blend until smooth like soft serve. (if your blender/processor need help getting started add a splash of coconut milk)
Spoon into a bowl and eat straight or add toppings!
If you would like to be able to scoop it like icecream- transfer to a bread pan lined with parchment paper and pop in the freezer for 10-15 minutes. It should be scoopable, if too hard, let set on the counter for a minute and try scooping again.
Recipe Notes***Make sure that your essential oil is able to be used for dietary use! I trust and use these oils.
